John Zrebiec, M.S.W., C.D.E.

John Zrebiec, M.S.W., C.D.E.John Zrebiec has been a clinical social worker at the Joslin Diabetes Center since 1982. He provides counseling to children, adolescents and adults with diabetes who are seeking outpatient and inpatient care through the Joslin Diabetes Center. He has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, families and groups about the emotional and behavioral aspects of diabetes. He also directs a special course which helps people with diabetes deal more effectively with low blood sugar reactions.

John is a lecturer at Harvard Medical School, and has been a clinical instructor at Simmons College School of Social Work in Boston. He has lectured and written extensively about the emotional impact of diabetes and its effect upon family relationships. He has a special interest in how people with diabetes can improve their health through interactive Internet experiences.

John Zrebiec is a Certified Diabetes Educator and has been Chairman of the Board of the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators.
