Studies for People with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes
Do you want to improve your diabetes control? If you are between 18 and 65 years of age, have diabetes, and are using insulin you may be eligible to participate in a research study looking at the link between heart disease and diabetes. The Carb Study: If you are over age 18 years of age and have type 1 or 2 diabetes, you may be eligible for a study on carbohydrate knowledge. Involves one visit to Joslin, participating in “food lab” activities, and completing questionnaires. Validated parking is available, and study visit can be arranged to coincide with medical appointments. Women's Health Study: If you are a woman between the ages of 18-40 and have type 1 or 2 diabetes, you may be eligible for a study on a new women's health education program. Participation involves two visits to Joslin over a two-month period, a one and a half-hour women's health class, a blood draw for A1C measurements, and questionnaires. The Diabetes Education Study: We are seeking people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, ages 18-75 years, for a study comparing group and individual diabetes education programs. Includes free education, parking, blood glucose meter, and test strips, as well as five visits to Joslin to meet with study staff. Are your blood sugars in good control (HbA1c<7%)? If you are between the ages 18-75 years, then you may be eligible to participate in our study on problem solving strategies in diabetes. We are studying how people with diabetes learn and solve problems. Participants will visit Joslin once, for about 60-90 minutes, to complete several surveys and other tests.
