Thursday, February 11, 2010
The Joslin Diabetes Center and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital have entered into a collaboration to improve the public health and the quality of care provided to people with diabetes or at risk for diabetes.
The BWH is a world renowned medical center with a substantial number of patients with diabetes. The Joslin Diabetes Center will collaborate with BWH in the design, development and implementation of comprehensive programs to improve clinical outcomes.
Initially the focus of the collaboration will be the Watkins Cardiovascular Clinic where we will identify poorly controlled patients with diabetes, align their vascular/cardiovascular and diabetes care and coordinate a smooth transition to outpatient care.
