Laura Coral

Clinical Research Coordinator

Laura Coral is the clinical research coordinator for the Latino Diabetes Initiative. She was born and raised in Colombia before moving to the United States with her family.

Upon receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Laura wanted to work at an institution where she could integrate her interest in research with her Latino cultural background.

Shortly thereafter, Laura joined the LDI team at Joslin, where she is currently investigating the effect of at-home hemoglobin A1C testing, as well as the effect of Group Medical Visits on patients with Type 2 Diabetes.

Laura works alongside the clinic’s doctors and nurses to follow up with the Latino and non-Latino patients participating in the study, and provides assistance with additional LDI community outreach projects.
