Geoffrey S. Rehnert

Geoffrey S. Rehnert is the Co-Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Audax Group, a leading middle market private equity and private debt firm.  Founded in 1999, Audax has raised over $8 billion in equity and debt capital. Audax Private Equity owns more than 40 portfolio companies which have combined revenues in excess of $8.0 billion.  The portfolio of Audax Mezzanine and Audax Senior debt capital investments includes an additional 100 middle market companies.

Prior to founding Audax Group, Mr. Rehnert was a General Partner and Managing Director of Bain Capital, Inc., which he helped to start in 1984.  Mr. Rehnert also worked at Bain & Company and at Morgan Guaranty Trust Company (now J.P. Morgan and Company, Inc.).

Mr. Rehnert earned a BA with honors in economics from Duke University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.  He received his JD from Stanford Law School, where he was a member of the Stanford Law Review and graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif.  Mr. Rehnert also serves on the Duke University Trinity College Board of Visitors, the Board of Duke University Management Company (DUMAC), the Dean’s Strategic Council at Stanford Law School, and he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Joslin Institute for Diabetic Research.

He resides in Weston, MA with his wife, Laura.  They have five children.
