Following my training in Endocrinology, I spent time as a Post-Doctoral Fellow studying the effect of lead on glucose metabolism. My work in this field led me to become interested in how external factors such as various chemicals, including nutrients, influence the regulation of homeostasis.

By completing a fellowship in obesity and clinic nutrition, I was able to gain further experience in treating weight disorders which led me to focus on treating diabetes using a weight-centered approach. Thus my interest is focused on using methods such as various low calorie diets, weight loss drugs and metabolic (bariatric) surgery for the management of the diabetic patient.
