Real-Time Continuous Glucose Monitoring: Is It for You?
If you’re wondering what continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is all about, this 90-minute workshop is for you.
Facilitated by an experienced certified diabetes educator, you’ll learn how a CGM device works, along with the benefits CGM has to offer, including warnings of high and low blood glucose, whether your glucose is rising or falling, and identification of “trouble spots” in your glucose patterns and areas for improvement. Important issues, such as calibration, how to wear the device and insurance coverage will be addressed. Key features of various CGM devices will be discussed to help you make an informed decision about CGM and which device might be best for you. This workshop will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions you have about CGM.
Classes are scheduled for the first Monday of every month at 9:00 a.m. To register call 617-264-2767.
* CGM classes are at this time limited to current Joslin patients.
