The Trustees, Leadership, Faculty, and Staff of Joslin Diabetes Center offer our deepest condolences and support to Anna, Rich, Hunter, and Joseph Levitan, their family, and friends. We remember our patient and friend, Lee Merritt Levitan, whose full and inspired life ended much too early when she was struck by a car in rural Arkansas on Day 12 of a cross-country bicycle trip. Merritt was an accomplished student and athlete, a member of the varsity ski and tennis team and Co-captain of the Milton Academy Tennis Team. She was also a managing editor of the independent Milton Academy newspaper and was awarded The Laurence S. Persky Memorial Award for excellence in work appearing in Milton Academy student publications. Merritt was head of the outdoor club at Milton Academy and was on her way to Colgate University to continue her studies and pursue her dreams. Joslin celebrates the life and legacy of Lee Merritt Levitan and will remember her always by creating a lasting tribute to her resolve and spirit. http://bit.ly/12Eo09U
