Joslin Names Abby and Maddy Conway the 2016 Youth Ambassadors

BOSTON – (March 9, 2016) – Joslin Diabetes Center has named Abby and Maddy Conway the 2016 Merritt Levitan Youth Ambassadors. The 14 year old twins were introduced as the Youth Ambassadors at the 2015 High Hopes Gala on November 21, 2015.

Diabetes has been a part of Abby and Maddy’s lives as long as they can remember. Abby was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes back in 2005 when she was only 4 years old. Almost 10 years later, Maddy was also diagnosed with the disease. Together, they work to manage this disease and live a healthy and normal life.

“With the support of their Joslin team, Abby and Maddy work hard to manage their diabetes so diabetes doesn’t manage them,” said the girl’s mother, Wendy Conway.

As the 2016 Youth Ambassadors, Abby and Maddy will act as an ambassador of Joslin at various events, advocate for diabetes awareness, and educate their peers about the mission of Joslin Diabetes Center. Joslin Diabetes Center is honored to have Abby and Maddy as part of the Joslin family and look forward to seeing the great work they do as Youth Ambassadors.
