Stephanie S. Lee, Regional Director, Public Affairs, of Verizon visited Joslin on January 6 to deliver a grant from The Verizon Foundation to Joslin Diabetes Center in support of Joslin’s Latino Diabetes Initiative.

Verizon's generous funding will allow the Latino Diabetes Initiative to create culturally appropriate, interactive, bilingual content for the Joslin web site for both Latino patients and their providers.

This project has the potential to effectively reach Latinos in the United States and around the world and to help improve health literacy and diabetes self-management.

“Joslin is extremely grateful to Ms. Lee and to Verizon Foundation for their strong support," said Kathleen Carney, Joslin's Director of Foundaton Relations.  "We look forward to continuing our partnership in the future.”

Representing the Joslin Latino Intiative at the event was Andrew Rolla, Angelee Russ, Enrique Caballero, M.D., LDI Director, and Andreina Millan Ferro.
