AtlantiCare Opens Joslin Affiliate Center in New Jersey

Joslin has announced an affiliation with AtlantiCare, a regional healthcare organization based in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place today for the Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at AtlantiCare, which will offer the latest advances for treating diabetes and its complications as well as patient education and support services.

“We are proud to bring the world leader in diabetes care and education to southeastern New Jersey,” says Katherine Schneider, M.D., Vice President, AtlantiCare Health Engagement. “Together we’ll elevate the level of care for patients with diabetes through our partnership with this international leader in diabetes treatment, research and education.”

“According to the American Diabetes Association, 700,000 people in New Jersey have diabetes,” says Janice Murphy, Director, National Affiliated Programs at Joslin. “We know that, statistically, a third of them don’t know they have the disease. We look forward to working with AtlantiCare to bring Joslin’s integrated, comprehensive care to people with diabetes and related conditions.”

Joslin has Affiliated Programs in 29 facilities throughout the United States and in Canada and Dubai. Joslin provides clinical, educational, operational and marketing support to its Affiliates to help assure that high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective diabetes care is available to each partner’s community—ensuring that these organizations and the patients they serve are in touch with the latest clinical trends and research breakthroughs.
