Latest in diabetes education to reach more residents in New England

BOSTON — February 5, 2007 — Joslin Diabetes Center, the global leader in diabetes research, care and education, is pleased to announce its affiliation with Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH. The Joslin Diabetes Center Education Affiliate at Frisbie Memorial Hospital offers educational programs for patients with diabetes, one-on-one education classes for those who are newly diagnosed and diabetes information groups.

"We are proud to be the first and only hospital in New Hampshire's seacoast region to groom and develop such a powerful partnership," says Al Felgar, President and CEO of Frisbie Memorial Hospital. "By aligning with Joslin Diabetes Center, we can bring the Joslin expertise in patient education directly to Rochester. This partnership will allow us to improve the quality of life for those with diabetes in Rochester and surrounding communities."

"We will work with the Certified Diabetes Educators and other health professionals at Frisbie Memorial Hospital to bring Joslin's nationally recognized educational programs to people with diabetes in New Hampshire."
