Camp Joslin
“Teaching Kids to Control Diabetes So Diabetes Doesn't Control Them!”
Located in scenic Charlton, Mass., Camp Joslin's programs combine camping, sports and fun with diabetes education and support to give children with diabetes, and their families, the tools they need to live happy, healthy, balanced lives.
Camp Joslin offers a variety programs throughout the year. The largest, summer camp, serves over 450 boys and young men each summer. Campers and their families often call their time at camp the single most rewarding experience in their lives with diabetes.
At Camp Joslin, kids learn by doing. A basketball game becomes a chance to balance insulin with exercise and a lunch with friends becomes a chance to learn carb counting and meal planning.
Children leave Camp Joslin with many memories of fun times with new friends, and a better understanding of themselves and diabetes. This positive combination creates an experience for each child that better prepares him or her to take on the multiple challenges of living with diabetes.
