James Peterson served as CEO of Haemonetics Corporation (NYSE: HAE) and after retirement has worked to bring new technologies into reality to improve the quality of life of people with diabetes. In the process, he was advisor to a private equity group on their diabetes investments, founded an insulin pump company for people with type 1 diabetes, and founded an insulin infusion company for people with type 2 diabetes. He created and supported the young investigators award of the Diabetes Technology Society.
Peterson has served on several boards, including the American Association of Blood Banks, the European Board of Project Hope, and the Verbier Festival and Academy.
Peterson holds a bachelor of science in engineering from University of Washington and a master of business administration from Stanford University. He is a resident of Geneva, Switzerland.
