LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify key recommendations from national diabetes treatment guidelines that can drive individualized therapeutic decisions for glycemic control in people with diabetes.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify common glycemic control problems and treatment barriers, and then recommend individualized therapeutic approaches which also address patient self-care issues and comorbidities as needed.
- Recognize medical and self-care characteristics for each patient and utilize the identification of those characteristics to individualize therapeutic recommendations for treatment of rising glucose levels during the day and postprandial hyperglycemia.
INTENDED AUDIENCE
Physicians, caregivers of people with diabetes in the hospital setting.
METHOD OF PARTICIPATION.
To receive credit, participants must (1) read the target audience, learning objectives, and disclosure statements, (2) complete the educational activity online, and (3) complete the posttest and activity evaluation. It is estimated that this module will take approximately 2 hours to complete.
HARDWARE/SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
Participants will need a computer, tablet, or smartphone, as well as an internet connection sufficient for streaming media.
