Joslin’s Annual Teddy Bear Clinic Set For Saturday, April 8

Media Advisory: Photo Opportunity

BOSTON – March 31, 2006 – More than 100 children and their families are expected to attend Joslin Diabetes Center’s Annual Teddy Bear Clinic on Saturday, April 8 from 1-3 p.m. in the 2nd floor Atrium at Joslin Diabetes Center. Joslin is located near the corner of Brookline and Longwood Avenues in Boston’s Longwood Medical Area.

Children with diabetes between the ages of 3-12, and their siblings, are invited to bring a favorite stuffed animal or doll to visit with Joslin staff and volunteers at several fun craft and medical play stations.  Each station will provide entertaining and educational activities for children to learn about diabetes. The Teddy Bear Clinic is a great opportunity for both children and their families to learn some helpful tips about living healthy with diabetes to better manage the disease.

This year’s Teddy Bear Clinic is being sponsored by Eaton Apothecary. Eaton Apothecary has 12 locations throughout Greater Boston and offers free home delivery for prescriptions.

For more information, please contact Jenny Eriksen, (617) 732-2415 or on the day of the event, (617) 947-0760.
