Effect of Meal Replacement Shakes on Blood Sugar Control in Adults with Type 2 Diabetes
Description:
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of meal replacement shakes on blood sugar control in people who have type 2 diabetes and are overweight. Participants will be randomized to either continue with their normal diet or to replace breakfast and a daily snack with nutritional shakes.
This study involves:
- 3 visits to Joslin Diabetes Center over 14 days
- Wearing a continuous glucose monitor
- Keeping a daily tracking log
- 1 follow-up phone call (approximately 10 minutes)
Monetary compensation and parking validation will be provided for eligible study participants, in addition to meal replacement shakes.
