Joslin offers two HMO plan options through Tuft’s Health Plan, with coverage available to you and your family immediately upon hire. Premium deductions are made on a pre-tax basis.
Joslin offers the Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier. You and your family are eligible to join immediately upon hire. Premium deductions are taken on a pre-tax basis.
Joslin offers a vision plan through EyeMed Vision Care. You and your family are eligible to join immediately upon hire. Employees pay 100% of the cost, which is deducted on a pre-tax basis.
Short Term Disability
Joslin provides company paid short term disability benefits, at 60% of your weekly base salary, to a maximum weekly benefit level. Enrollment is effective the first of the month after three months of employment.
Long Term Disability
Joslin provides company paid long term disability benefits for staff members who are unable to work after 13 weeks due to a medical disability. The benefit provides the staff member with disability pay equivalent to 60% of monthly base salary, capped at the monthly plan maximum. Enrollment is effective the first of the month after three months of employment.
Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment
Joslin provides company paid Basic Life and AD&D insurance, equal to two times the staff member’s annual earnings. Staff members may purchase additional (supplemental) life insurance coverage for themselves, spouses and/or dependent children at low group rates. Enrollment is effective the first of the month after three months of employment.
The Center offers a 403(b) Defined Contribution Retirement Plan administered by TIAA. All employees are eligible upon hire and are automatically enrolled with a pre-tax deferral contribution of 5%. Employees may change their deferral election or chose to withdraw from the program at any time.
After completing one year of employment and working 1,000 hours in your employment year, Joslin will match 100% on the first 5% of your employee contributions. There is a 3-year grading vesting requirement on company contributions.
Joslin offers a subsidy on parking and MBTA passes, commuter rail passes, vanpools and carpools, via payroll deduction.

Full-time staff members accrue 160 hours (20 days) per year of earned-time (ET). Time accrues on a bi-weekly basis and is prorated for part-time employees. ET may be used for vacation, short term illness or personal time-off.
Joslin observes 11 holidays per year: New Year’s, Martin Luther King, President’s Day, Patriot’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and one discretionary holiday.
Staff members are eligible to join the Alpha Credit Union at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. You can take advantage of checking and savings accounts, low interest loans and other services, such as purchase of traveler’s checks, money orders, savings bonds and more.
Flexible Spending Accounts
The Flexible Spending Account (FSA) benefit administered through WageWorks, provides the option to use pre-tax dollars for reimbursement of health care and/or dependent care expenses. You are eligible to participate immediately upon hire.
Staff Member Referrals: $500 Bonus
Joslin encourages staff members to recommend candidates for positions within the Center. After your referral has been employed for 90 days, you will receive a $500 bonus.
Staff members who work 20 hours a week or more and who have completed their introductory period, may apply for tuition reimbursement; amount of reimbursement is based on length of service.
