Joslin is proud to recognize our nutritionist, especially on Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day, which is being celebrated today – March 9.
The dietitians at Joslin provide insight and break down the science of food for our patients to plan proper meals for those with both type one and type two diabetes.
Today we wish to bring awareness to the important work they do and highlight the importance of education in diabetes management.
Meet our Nutritionists
"I enjoy being a registered dietitian nutritionist because I get to talk about something I love - Food. Food is essential for life but it is also therapeutic, enjoyable, and has so much heritage!”
- Sue-Ellen Anderson-Haynes, MS, RDN, CDE, CPT
"Being an RD allows me to truly support patients in their journey to respect their bodies and make peace with food. I enjoy speaking with patients about how to support their bodies in naturally finding an appropriate weight by honoring signals of hunger, fullness, and appetite."
-Heidi Karner, MS, RDN, LDN
"I love seeing patients feeling good after their first session, learning that they can continue to enjoy what they used to eat while using food to help them improve their health. They do not have to give up their cultural food. After understanding how food works in our body, healthy eating is not restrictive but liberating."
- Ka Hei Karen Lau, MS, RDN, LDN, CDE
"I love the art and science of Nutrition and the ability to make a difference in a person with diabetes health and well-being."
-Jo-Anne Rizzotto, MEd, RDN, LDN, CDE
